Turmeric Golden Milk

I recently shared a post that teaches you how to make golden paste, and this turmeric golden milk (sometimes referred to as just golden milk, turmeric milk, turmeric tea, or haldi doodh) is one of the best uses for your fresh batch of golden paste!

Whew, that was a bit of a mouthful, but stick with me here because I really think you’re going to love this wonderfully detoxifying and disease-fighting drink. Keep reading to find out how you can easily whip up a warm mug of powerful turmeric golden milk to enjoy before hitting the hay tonight.

What is Turmeric Golden Milk?

Turmeric golden milk is an ancient home remedy that’s known to work wonders on a list of ailments from the common cold to more serious conditions like arthritis and cancer.

Turmeric contains curcumin which is what gives it that gorgeous yellow color. It’s also what gives turmeric it’s healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Curcumin is believed to improve your digestion of fats and sugars might even help soothe inflammation in the digestive system.

Be sure to use your favorite milk when making your golden milk. I love using flax milk because it gives me an extra boost of omega 3, but you can use any dairy or dairy-alternative that you prefer.

I like drinking a warm mug of golden milk before bed because I feel like it really soothes my body and helps me sleep. I’ve noticed an improvement in my complexion since I started my golden milk regimen and I also think it may be helping with some of my chronic heartburn issues.

Fighting Cold & Cough

Of course, I always turn to turmeric golden milk when someone in our home starts showing signs of a cold.

Turmeric milk is considered an effective remedy for cold and cough because of its amazing antiviral and antibacterial properties. It’s also a really incredible homemade sore throat remedy!

Turmeric is also good for treating the pain and pressure of sinus infections, once again, because of it’s anti-inflammatory properties. Make It

Turmeric Golden Milk Recipe

Yield: 2 small servings or 1 larger serving

I love having a warm, soothing mug of golden milk in the evenings. It’s a great way to add healing turmeric to your diet!


  • 2 cups milk of your choice (dairy, coconut milk, almond milk, oat milk, soy milk—you decide!)
  • ½ to 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon golden paste (check out our golden paste recipe) OR 2 tsp turmeric and dash of black pepper


  • Simply stir the honey and golden paste (or turmeric and pepper if you’re not making golden paste first) into your warmed milk and enjoy!


*Pregnant should consult a physician before consuming turmeric. Some people are allergic to turmeric so please use proper precautions and consult a physician if you any questions.
